Youth Flyer Program

In partnership with the Stevens Point Area Public School District, United Way's Volunteer Center provides a standardized method to distribute community information flyers to youth in grades K-6. Nonprofit organizations interested in participating in this program should contact the United Way Volunteer Center at (715) 341-6740 for more information.

United Way will:

 

• Establish in cooperation with the Stevens Point Area Public School District an annual timetable of when flyers must be approved, delivered to designated project location in quantity and distributed to students. Receive approved flyer materials at a quantity of the enrolled students in grade k-6 from the most recent count plus 9%.
• Arrange with partner programs to collate, sort and box all flyers.
• Arrange for location of the project and communicate to the Stevens Point Area Schools for appropriate pickup of the finished project.
• Provide information regarding this program on the United Way website.
• Send an annual letter to know youth serving partner programs.

Stevens Point Area School District will:

 

• Determine if a flyer is approved for distribution within the elementary schools.
• Provide on a determined date each month a list via email of the flyers that have been approved for distribution.
• Pick up the sorted flyers and route them to the schools to be distributed by designated date.
• Provide the United Way of Portage County with student enrollment counts when they are conducted with the schools.
• Communicate with school principals and teachers regarding this program. 

Youth agencies/programs will:

 

• Submit the flyer to the superintendent or their designee for approval by designated date.
• Deliver to the United Way of Portage County (or designated project location) by designated dates the materials at the current enrollment count.
• Submit flyers no greater in size than standard letter size 8.5x11 and no thicker than five sheets of standard copy paper.

The United Way of Portage County and the Stevens Point Area Public School District will meet annually to review this program.
